Monks and novices prepare the exhibition venue at Wat Saket. This year though, with the tragic passing of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the 10-day extravaganza which dates back to the origins of Bangkok itself will cease to take place. Furthermore, the temple will be handing out 20,000 photos of His Majesty performing his royal duties in addition to a book of royal quotes. The temple also has funeral chanting rites for His Majesty King Bhumibol from 6-7pm as well as preaching of The Tipitaka from 9-10pm. The public are able to pay homage to His Majesty the King on the temple grounds until midnight as well.
